From zero to 2,000 – our bus adventure is picking up speed

Sometimes it feels like a dream: a double-decker bus that's gradually becoming our home and business on wheels. And then there's the growing community on TikTok and Instagram, following every screw, every new idea, and every small step forward. It's overwhelming to see how many people are interested in our journey – and that's exactly what I want to share with you today.

Hey everyone,

I promised you on TikTok: a new Reel when I reached 2,000 followers. Well, you'll have to wait another day or two – but how awesome is it that I've already hit the 2,000 mark on TikTok and have over 1,000 followers on Instagram?

For some, these are just numbers. But for us creators, bloggers, and social media professionals, they mean something much deeper: reach is direct feedback. It shows that there's interest in the content – that you're excited for us, asking questions, and sharing our vision.

Bus update: Layer by layer to the rough diamond

Current status:

• All seats have been removed

• All handrails are outside

• ¾ of all ads have been removed

• The interior paneling has been removed in the basement.

The next steps are clear:

• Remove front and rear displays → less weight, less unnecessary technology

• Remove coverings on the upper floor

• Dismantle ceilings

• And then comes the great enemy: rust.

For many, rust might just sound like a few brown spots. But on vehicles, it can destabilize entire structural components – in the worst-case scenario, parts could break off while driving, endangering other road users (and us). That's why we tackle rust thoroughly: grinding, derusting, and sealing. Durability, stability, and safety are our top priorities.

Future issues: Insulation, energy, water

In parallel, I am already working on the major issues:

• What type of insulation makes the bus comfortable, safe, and energy-efficient?

• How large do the tanks for fresh and wastewater need to be?

• Which batteries and solar panels will reliably power us while traveling?

• Which cooperation partners can we win over to implement the project more sustainably and faster?

Call to companies from Buxtehude & surrounding area

We are seeking product donations, collaborations, discounts, and support in areas such as:

• Insulation material

• Fire-resistant carpet

• Window blackout films

• Wood for building a bed & kitchen

• …and much more.

You can find a detailed overview further down on my project page.

Press & Visibility

On Saturday, September 13th, the first article was published in the Buxtehude weekly newspaper – the start of a whole series of articles! And next week the next big event is already on the horizon: with a large newspaper publishing team with cameras and film – because my goal is clear: radio & television.

See you very soon!
